I'm a drummer, producer & composer from NY. I'm married and have 6 Chihuahuas. I like many Japanese bands especially Dead End, Luna Sea, X and Loudness, and look forward to hearing many more.

This is a great album by certainly one of Japan's most unique bands. On sight alone I would think they focus more on appearance than music, but this album displays their greatness and diversity. I love how it opens with the symphonic "Prologue" and goes straight into the blistering thrash of "Blue Blood". The rest of the album features more fast riffing, straighter rock, melodic ballads, and even an extended-form "suite"-like combination of all. You rarely hear so much variation from one band but it is all done well! Musicianship is first rate, especially from drummer / pianist / composer Yoshiki. Production is pretty poor for a major label, but it's the music that matters. If you want to check out X (Japan), this is a great place to start.
