This is the turning point, I feel, in Nightmare's career, and coincidentally, my favorite Nightmare single.

Light, and airy, yet full of mystic and reflection, Varuna is definitely an awesomely fresh and unique song. With an entrancingly captivating opening (which is, disappointedly, cut out of the album version), it does a wonderful job framing the song’s distinctiveness. Furthermore, the intense guitar work, and ravishing vocals, results in a powerful track; while the pauses in activity allow for a wonderful, and mindful, reflection.

“To for”, is a little rougher. With aggressive melodies and sounds, it is a super cool song paired with equally rough vocals yet also has extremely soft parts by Yomi as well. Interesting, in the best sense, that isn’t very common in Nightmare’s works.

“Flora” is great!!! Sort of like a soft-ballad, with catchy choruses and an enveloping melody, It seems like a blending of the aesthetics of “Varuna” and “Kimi to ita kisetsu”; resulting in a highly intriguing, yet simple song. It’ll be a favorite of yours very quickly!

At first, I didn’t like the Varuna remix, it seemed to “lighten” the mystic of the original, but after a few listens the exaggerated light and “fluffy” atmosphere is very pleasing. The new optimistic spin on the original is fresh and sweet, but not saccharine.

A beautiful and beautifully profound single, Varuna, while not too soft and not too hard; is the bridge where "old" and "new" Nightmare fans meet, and it's splendid!
