American Gypsy (1975)

Funk group of American origin came to the Netherlands in 1972 and recorded their first album "Angel Eyes" on Philips (Netherland) in 1974. In 1975 the same album was issued in US under the title "American Gypsy" on Chess, same tracklist but different cover. Great soul funk album with a nod to sympho-prog here and there. The opening track 'Inside Out' reminds a lot of Isaac Hayes circa '69-70.

This CD is a reissue of Chess LP, hense Chess artwork. No lyrics, unfortunately. Available on CD only in Japan.
