33th single - Daybreaks Bell

33th single released, this comes with Daybreak's Bell as A track and Natsuu no Yuutsu[SEA IN BLOOD 2007] as B track.
A track was used as theme song for Gundam 00 and the song is about war and it's consequences. The instrumental part is simply amazing specially the drums. Ken did a great job creating such hard yet ear-friendly pattern for Yukihiro to play and Yuki did a great job playing those so tidily. IMHO the drums are the best part of this song though every instrument is essential to make this song what it is. Piano, drums, bass, guitar and vocal, none is dispensable since each one adds one little detail here and there that makes this song pretty amazing. The piano on this song also gives a great touch.

Track B is the P'unk~en~Ciel version of Natsu no Yuutsu, a classic from L'arc. Personally I think it could be better. It's not so musical, most of the original melody and harmony was lost. Actually, it looks like they simply took the melody line for the vocal and redid the whole arrangement from scratch. The original version has a "sad" atmosphere but the punk version feels like noise when compared.

4/5 rating due to track B but still a great single to listen.
